Freddie felt sad but didn’t give up. Instead of feeling sorry for himself, he practiced every day. He would hop from one rock to another, always pushing himself a little further. Day after day, Freddie worked hard, even when no one was watching. While the other frogs rested, Freddie was out in the pond, practicing.
One day, there was a big storm, and the pond began to flood. The frogs needed to escape to higher ground quickly. They all began to leap to safety, but the water rose fast. Many of the frogs struggled to jump far enough. Freddie, who had been practicing for so long, was ready. With all his strength, he jumped higher and farther than he ever had before. He landed on safe ground and helped guide the other frogs to safety.
The frogs who used to laugh at Freddie now looked at him with admiration. “We underestimated you, Freddie,” they said. “You showed us what true determination is.”
Freddie smiled and said, “It’s not about how you start. It’s about how hard you work to reach your goals.”
The lesson: Hard work and persistence can lead to great things, even if it seems difficult at first. Like Freddie, if you stay dedicated, you’ll reach new heights.
