The Owl Who Listened | Short story

0
Deep in the forest, there was a wise old owl named Oliver. Oliver was known for his wisdom and calm nature, and all the animals would come to him for advice. One day, a young squirrel named Sammy came to Oliver, upset and anxious.

“Oliver, I don’t know what to do,” Sammy said. “I feel like everyone else is moving ahead, but I’m stuck. No matter what I try, nothing seems to work.”

Oliver didn’t say anything at first. He just listened as Sammy talked about all the things that were bothering him. Sammy talked about feeling lost, about trying different things but failing, and about feeling like he wasn’t good enough.

After Sammy finished talking, Oliver said, “Sometimes, we need to stop and listen to ourselves. In all your rushing and worrying, you haven’t taken a moment to hear what your heart is saying. Take time to pause, reflect, and you’ll find your path.”

Sammy took Oliver’s advice. Instead of rushing to try new things, he sat quietly for a while, thinking about what he truly wanted. Soon, he realized that he had been chasing things that didn’t matter to him. With a clearer mind, Sammy found the direction he needed and moved forward with confidence.

The lesson: Sometimes, the best thing you can do is pause and listen. Like Oliver, when you stop and reflect, you can find the answers you’ve been searching for.
