The Turtle Who Refused to Give Up | Short story

0
On the shore of a big, blue ocean lived a sea turtle named Tina. Every year, Tina’s family would make a long journey across the ocean to find new feeding grounds. But Tina wasn’t as fast as the other turtles. She struggled to keep up and often felt like giving up.

“Maybe I’m not meant to make the journey,” Tina thought.

One year, the journey was harder than ever. The currents were strong, and many turtles were swept off course. Tina swam as fast as she could, but the waves kept pushing her back. Exhausted, Tina wanted to stop, but then she remembered the words her mother always told her: “It’s not about how fast you swim, but how steady you are. Just keep moving forward, one stroke at a time.”

Tina decided to keep going, even if it was slow. She didn’t race ahead like the others, but she kept swimming, focusing on one stroke at a time. Days passed, and while some turtles gave up, Tina kept pushing forward. Finally, after many days of swimming, she reached the feeding grounds.

The other turtles, who had rushed ahead and struggled, were amazed to see Tina arrive. “How did you make it?” they asked.

Tina smiled and said, “I just kept going, even when it was hard. Sometimes, slow and steady wins the race.”

The lesson: Persistence is often more important than speed. Like Tina, if you keep moving forward, even slowly, you’ll eventually reach your goal.
